My contacts are not restoring from iCloud

I deleted my contacts by accident and they are not restoring from iCloud even through I am picking a restore date from a few days ago.

what can I do to restore all of my contacts across all of my devices.

MacBook Air 11″, macOS 10.12

Try -- Restore contacts, calendars, and more in Settings on iCloud.com - Apple Support.
