Importing Images to iMovie

Ever since the most recent update, I'm unable to import all my images into iMovie. (I export slides from Keynote as images, but am unable to import all of them into iMovie, even when they're from the same presentation.)

I've tried selecting them in a Finder window and dragging them into Project Media. I've also tried clicking Import and finding the files on my computer. When I take these steps, nothing happens: no error message, no import. I'm exporting about 100 photos at a time from Keynote as PNGs to overlay over videos in iMovie. About 90% will import into iMovie just fine, while the other 10% won't. I re-export from Keynote, and they still don't import into iMovie.

Try importing the troublesome images into the Photos app and then accessing them in iMovie from the Photos item in the iMovie media sidebar of a project.

Another thing you can try is making a duplicate of the image and then opening it in the Finder with the Preview app on your Mac. In Preview, go to Tools/Adjust Size and in the dimension box lower the long dimension number to 2500, or lower if it is already that. See if the lowered resolution image will import into iMovie
