opened a back up hard drive to access photos. pictures in iPhoto have names and sizes but there is no image. Used Carbon Copy cloner not iCloud or time machine.

I backed up my hard drive with Carbon Copy Cloner to a boot drive. When I started up from the back up and opened photos I can see names of and sizes for my photos but there is no image. Is there some sort of restore function or way to get the images? I tried clicking on a video but received an error message saying it was an unsupported format. (seems unlikely since it was video from an iPhone)
