how do I download Chrome onto my macbook?
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15
I'm beginning to interpret this as Apple making sure that goggle chrome (as a competitor) does not easily get on apple MacBooks. Extremely frustrating and Apple is becoming more opaque as time goes by.
a later one. This a brand new MacBook, purchased two weeks ago. When I try the link, it does able me to the app store to download chrome it says
This app is available only on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
I've downloaded the Chrome app onto my MacBook but it won't open. I've deleted. reinstalled, logged off and logged back in. It just doesn't open. I get this message when I dig:
Permission denied (13) [15851:775:1030/192654.448638:ERROR:process_singleton_posix.cc(416)] Could not open singleton lock: Permission denied (13)
[15851:775:1030/192654.448787:ERROR:chrome_browser_main.cc(1251)] Failed to create a ProcessSingleton for your profile directory. This means that running multiple instances would start multiple browser processes rather than opening a new window in the existing process. Aborting now to avoid profile corruption. logout

Can anybody please give guidance as to what is happening? Thanks

I tried the step by step instructions I am still getting this error message. I need chrome run a work application.
What error message would that be?
I have tried that link, many thanks. It then tell me that chrome is ONLY available for iPhones and iPads (not MacBooks!)
I didn’t give you a link.
Hey there,
I have just tried the link on a MacBook Pro and can confirm it works.
Are you running MacOS X 10.10 or later?
The links above should not go to the Mac App Store. Instead, they should and do go directly to the Google download site.
You have to select the Chrome version for Macs. You are trying to install a mobile device version of Chrome.
Many thanks Bob and everyone else. Really appreciate your advice, sorted it for me.
regards
