Cant hear anything when Im on a call

After the ios update I can’t hear anything when Im on a call the speaker works just fine so it perfect when using speaker or ringing or even watching videos but when I get a call the sound is super low to the point where I have to put it on speaker to hear the other person I have tried cleaning it and have done everything it said on the apple page but nothing seems to help and before the update it was super loud sometimes i would lower the volume so the people next to me wont hear my call can you please help me! Nothing in the settings help nor cleaning it. By the way I have an iphone 8 plus

Thanks for the update. If you cannot hear anything on every call, it may be an issue with the receiver speaker at the top of the iPhone. You can also try to update the carrier settings on the iPhone. While the second article says it is for No Service, there are a couple things you can try that may be able to help.


Try to raise the volume while you are on a call and not using speakerphone.


Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad


If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad


Have a good one.

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems like you cannot hear anything while on calls. If the speaker works it may be isolated to the receiver.


If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker
