Finding Original song Copies, well not copies, the Original.

When you cant find an original copy of a song, what happens? must i erase my hard work? and if you do find one, how does iTunes Recognize it? Is it looking at where it was? or the actual file? is there a way to turn off the fact that it isn't the original, i am a musical writer, and i don't know where the original went/ see I'm remastering my songs. so i dont even Care where the original is at this point..

Thankyou for any help anyone knows about the subject, it may lead me to trash the songs.... i hate that.

To see which file and iTunes/Music library item is referencing, right-click and choose Show in Finder (or Show in Windows Explorer).

Note that iTunes /Music does not particularly care if the file is an original or not. If you wish to keep that information, right-click, Get Info, and add an appropriate tag in the Name, Album, or Comments field, such as "original," "remastered," "remixed by How," or whatever you wish.
