Why can’t I edit or change my Apple id

of course thank you! so I’m trying to add my gmail account which for some reason disappeared, but it says this email is not available. Tried to change my Apple ID to allow me add the gmail it says you can’t😩

If the Apple ID is yours then you can change it.
