When updating my apple id settings I must sign in and when i do a two-factor authentication is sent to a number that I do not know. When i go into my own icloud it says the trusted numbers are ones that I recognize. can you help me with the problem?

I looked at them, yet they did not help with my problem. I have no clue what number is my code is being sent to and my trusted devices are the numbers I recognize.
What you are describing is very odd seeing that you can login to your Apple ID page and verify the trusted numbers. You may wish to consider -- Get Support.
