Start button does not turn on computer, a 2012 iMac.
Have tried unplugging lead, holding down start button for anything from 10 seconds to 5 minutes, unplugging from surge protector or any combination of the above mentioned.
Tomorrow I have an appointment at the Genius Bar - let’s see what they tell me - new power supply, perhaps??

You are right, according to the Apple store Genius Bar, the power supply has failed. However, they don’t have one available for a 2011 iMac.
Fortunately, an independent repairer can fix it for me and it is with him at present.

It could be possible that your iMac has power supply issue, though it could be possible that your iMac has logic board issue.
