how to get 64 bit support for iPhoto

iPhoto depends on a 32-bit library, even if the application itself is 64-bit. If you're using Catalina, you need to switch to Photos or a non-Apple product.

So now you have two libraries:

Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch Photos. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and open the one you want.

Photos will create a new Photos library with all your iPhoto media.
