I accidentally left my AirPods in my shorts and I washed the shorts for 43 minutes. The AirPods were wet when I got them out the wash. Are they broken? What should I do?

My AirPods are wet and I left them in the washer for 43 minutes in my pants? Are they broken? Should I put them in rice? What do I do?

Nobody knows whether these are broken or not, nor what the long-term outcome might be.

Some dunked devices still work. Some don't. A dunked device that does work tends to see corrosion over time, due to the immersion in dirty water and soap, even if the device does work or does start working.

Apple suggests directing dry air over and into the device, at least for other Apple hardware that's been dunked.

Expect to replace the device.

Rice... rice and rice dust and dirt just tends to get into equipment, and tends to get jammed into openings in equipment.
