iOS 14 empty space at bottom
When you only use 1 Home Screen page like I do, there’s a large empty space at the bottom of the screen. Is it possible to remove that and spread the apps out a little instead?

Apple did this so that users can now hide home screens on their phones. You can hide every Home Screen except for one and you cannot remove the Apps Library either.
This explains more about organizing home screens.

I think it's awful. The bottom of the screen is the most valuable real estate for single handed use. The argument that this is for the 11 people who want to hide home screens doesn't hold water either. There is NO gap with IOS 14 on an iPhone 8. It's obviously a trade-off for legacy phones.
Sad that my new $1,000 iPhone 12 pro only displays the same amount information as phones that are 3-4 generations old - and in a worse format as well.
I think this gap is there because you can now press there and drag to end of the pages. However it’s super annoying. They basically moved all the app icons closer vertically and it looks off now. I wish they would move them back.
Agreed..it looks awful and my wallpaper and icons no longer look neat and in line with the entire screen. Apple please change it back to the way it was and remove that awful gap, I can literally no longer enjoy looking at my phone anymore. I am hugely disappointed!!
Hilarious how Apple lovers still can't do things Android users have done for 10yrs. Like simple icon arrangement on the home screen to wherever you want and custom launchers. Oh but look# you can pin yiur favorite group in the messages app now to the top. ROFL. And you pay way more money than you should for it.
I have 2 phones, an S20 and an an iPhone 11 Pro Max. Both os have their benefits but its all about preference. I don’t need a customizable Home Screen to make me feel like an individual. I wish I could take my S20 and put iOS on it. iOS is vastly superior in every way for how I use my phones.

don't be a troll
we like what we like, and it's not always just about the iPhone but often about integration with other Apple products
but seriously, how often do you see iPhone users trolling android forums saying stuff like "haha you you'd pay that much for a piece of plastic, and you gotta deal with bloatware unless you wanna root the phone? what fools!"
...um never
go away
It looks wrong. You could almost fit another row of icons in that gap! So is it really just there for those dots? I’m banking on a future update that allows you to disable the dots. For a company so highly regarded for design aesthetics this looks like a design own goal. First world problems though! It’s not that big a deal. It just looks daft. ‘Disable dots on home screen’ (please).
I want to know the same. The space at the bottom is annoying me so much, it literally causes me anxiety every time I look at my phone. Surely there is a way to fix this!!!
I am in the same boat. Love my iphone but this betrayal of Apple to blank out an entire bottom row for some silly dots has my teeth cringing everytime I pick up my phone.
i am so annoyed by this gap! I never would have installed iOS 14 if I knew about this. GET RID OF THE GAP!
I use a wallpaper to visually compensate
You could try a modded wallpaper like this I did. The apps are just pictures but the gap is gone.
No.
I agree, would never had updated if I knew my homepage would look like this!!
