iPad OS = 14.0

MacOS = Catalina 10.15.6
AirPods are available on all 3 devices (can manually connect). Automatic Device Switching works between iPad and iPhone but not Mac.
Steps to Recreate: AirPods connected to iPad. Start Music App on iPhone and press play and AirPods automatically switch. Press pause, then open Music on Mac and press play -- AirPods do not automatically switch.
Suggestions?
Automatic device switching involving a Mac requires MacOS Big Sur, which has not been released yet.
The problem still exists even after the release of Big Sur
The automatic switch system does not work at all and is reported by many people on the network, actually I believe it exists for everyone
Unfortunately it doesn't work even with Big Sur. My AirPod Pros don't even connect automatically to my iPhone anymore for some reason, I have to go into the Bluetooth app and manually initiate it every time now. There are lots of problems since Big Sur, an even buggier release than Catalina first was.
Any updates about this issue? it's still exists with AirPods Pro, iPhone 11 with iOS 14.2 and macOS Big Sur 11.0.1
I don't think it will be fixed anytime soon, I don't even know if Apple knows about it. It's a promised feature with Big Sur and IOS 14 but it NEVER worked
Exatcly the same thing here. it is driving me crazy. not gonna lie, it was the feature I was waiting for the most. works nicely iPad/ iPhone. Only works one way (from Mac to iPhone). The audio does not seem to route back to the Mac after a call. sad!
