Battery drain after iOS 14 update.
I had installed the new ios 14 and my battery drained from 90% to 10% without me even touching the phone. This has never happened before.
Please Apple fix asap.
Apple Vision Pro is now available in the U.S.

Hi, you can check this: iPhone Battery and Performance
Check the battery health, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health & if the maximum capacity is less than 80%, you need to replace the battery on your phone.
You can restore your phone as new:
How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings
If the issue persists, you can take your phone to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. Book an appointment on getsupport.apple.com or use the Apple Support app.
For real?! I mean I’ve heard of battery indicators going a bit off course, but this seems to be rather extreme. I don’t normally let my battery fall to 1% but I might try it to see if this is something iOS 14 caused or it’s unique to your iPhone.
SO the new ios 14 sucks, which downloaded automatically. i have the same battery issues...but I figured out that the battery doesn't actually drain it's the reading. My phone worked fine at 1% for 14 hours, just disheartening to deal with. I did find if you pair it with another bluetooth device like Alexa and play pandora the battery reading works again...WIERD!!!
Apple needs to fix this without having to reset your device...Stupid. Come on Apple do better
Thanks for the suggestion. I deleted almost all of the widgets from the widget screen and the battery drain slowed significantly. As you said, I'm not sure it's back to iOS 13 performance, but it's much better than it was. The problem is with the widgets.
Latest update and good news: while on Saturday my iPhone battery indicator was still decreasing at a fast rate (from 100% to under 10% in 8 hours), it seems to have gone back to normal after the Saturday evening charge (I was just going to try on Sunday if a connexion with a Bluetooth device would change anything). I have no idea how this came about, but it at least shows that you do not have to reset your device.
Man my iPhone 11 battery drains faster than a roller coaster after updating to iOS 14...100% to 0 in 4 hours .... like WTF??? I have to charge my phone 3 times a day. The only reason I switched from Samsung to Apple was the smoother software experience and not the hardware.... but this battery drain is seriously making me consider buying an S20 now.... The battery on Samsung phones is amazing tbh
Never had a problem with the battery until this last update. Full charge in my pocket for about 7hrs while at work , I got home pull my phone out it’s at 20% WTH , this would of never happened if Steve was still here !!!!!! Just saying!!!!
This is happening to me too. Ever since ios 14 update! Phone will be fully charged, I try to write a message and it will turn off then come back on at 10%. Or like just now where I turned it back on after it shutdown from 5% to be back to 17% then jumped up to 75%. I just got a text and now its at 65%. This is crazy!!! And extremely annoying. I had to buy a portable power box yesterday while I was out just so i could pay for groceries if my phone went flat! It has only started since the update!
Have the same problem with Iphone SE first generation after updating to iOS14. Battery drained overnight. Two activities shown phone 60% and home screen 30%. Background app activity off. Battery health 86%.
I delayed to install this update for whatever reason. Just installed it 12/3/2020 Immediately noticed battery drainage issues. The battery drains almost completely in less than 24 hours even with minimum usage.
I reported the same issue couple months ago and have replied to several postings by others. Apple seems to be way too excited about its iphone 12 and assumes everyone like us whose phones became useless due to problems with the ios14 will throw away their phone and buy a new one.
Well, I've had it. Just ordered an android. Apple you lost my business, and soon will lose my family members', relatives' and my friends'.
No more "i" stuff for me, I am done.
A big company that doesn't care about their customers deserves to be left behind.
Do you have a third party VPN or Profile installed on your Phone?
Settings > General > Profiles
Settings > General > VPN
Those types of items interact deeply at the OS level and won’t show up in the battery use area. If so consider contacting the developer or try removing them to see if that resolves the issue.
The only other recommendation I have is to back up your phone and photos. Then erase all content and settings. Use the phone for one day and see if the battery life improves. I have friends with older iPhones that are not experiencing this.
I spent over two weeks with apple level two and a couple engineers. They were contradicting each other. The last person I spoke with asked that I replace the battery but he agreed that a battery at 84% should not need replacement.
The techs and engineers were hesitant to accept it is the ios14 that is causing this issue not the battery.
They checked my hardware and all of the apps on the phone. Although I dont have many. I dont do so ial media or play games. Not a heavy duty phone user.
The problem is with the ios14.
Sooner or later apple has to and will admit to it.
Thanks for your comments,
I do not have a third party VPN or Profile installed on my iphone 6E first generation and there are numerous reports of battery problems after installing IOS 14. Before going to the effort to erase all data on my phone I want a reply from Apple to this question.
My wife and I have had the exact same issue, irrelevant of battery replacement. We have iPhone 7 and iPhone 7+ respectively. This all happened after the most recent 14 update.
From what I’ve seen here and from other forums it seems to be outside the relevance of a battery replacement and coincides specifically with the update. Problem in code, manufactured obsolescence, or something else who knows, but needs to be addressed.
Totally agree. This is the same exact issue cause that I reported in my posting a few months ago.
The evidence is overwhelming that the battery problem is caused by ios14.
I am surprised as how apple is not responding and remains silence.
Perhaps apple doesn't mind to have their legal team handle this issue because the number of affected consumers is growing.
