Hello psbarrett13,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
We understand from your post that you would like to delete whole playlists instead of one song at a time. You can delete all the songs from your device using the steps below:

I can delete individual playlists no problem but my phone has created multiple/duplicate playlists numbering in the hundreds and would take hours to do individually. I need to know how to delete or clear ALL playlists with one action/function!
I have the same problem. Out of the blue, Apple Music made 16 or so duplicates of most of my playlists. It is taking me forever to delete the playlists one at a time. Why can't there be a command for deleting more than one playlist at a time.
This removes the music but does not remove the playlists. Is there a solution?
psbarrett13,
What happens when you try to delete the playlist as described below?
Create playlists on iPhone - Apple Support
"Delete a playlist
Touch and hold the playlist, then tap Delete from Library.
You can also tap the playlist, tap
, then tap Delete from Library."
Take Care.
