How do I get to install Snow Leopard on my machine, I have a CD and have a Thumb drive, but catalina blocks and won't let me install on partion for dual boot option...

There are several reasons why you can not install or run Snow Leopard on a new iMac
The main one, is that Snow Leopard does not support the new Mac’s hardware.

You can't. A Mac running Catalina is too new to boot Snow Leopard.
