Can't install Command Line Tools with "xcode-select --install"

If i try to install Command Line Tools from the Terminal with "xcode-select --install", i got following error:

"Can’t install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server."

Workaround: Download from https://developer.apple.com/download/more/, but i think then i don't get automatic updates.

Yesterday, after I had downloaded and installed the 11.2 GB (compressed) Xcode 12, and OK'd its prompt for additional tools, I checked the version of /usr/bin/swift and it was v5.3. That Swift version update suggests to me that the Command-line tools for Xcode 12 may have installed with it, though there is no System Information panel verification of that. Also, Xcode 12 updated Apple's Python3 to v3.8.2 in /usr/bin.
