i’ve been wanting a new phone and i read that i can trade in my phone but it has a really small scratch on the bottom left by the home button. would that make me not able to trade it in?

As long as everything works properly, then yes. The actual trade in value will be determined after a physical inspection of the device. So how any cosmetic damage may affect value is only knowable once you’ve sent it in and it’s been inspected.
