MMS on iPad 12.9
I don’t see where there is an option to turn on MMS on the iPad 12.9. Can anyone shed any light on this topic? Thanks in advance.

You cannot send nor receive SMS or MMS messages with any iPad (wifi only or wifi+cellular) unless it is paired with an iPhone using iOS continuity. SMS/MMS messaging requires a cellular telephone as it sends messages over unused bandwidth in the cellular telephone voice spectrum. No iPad can connect to any cellular telephone voice system, so no iPad can natively send or receive SMS/MMS texts. Only by coupling it with an iPhone, to use the iPhone's text capabilities, can an iPad use SMS/MMS.
By itself, an iPad is an internet data only device, so can only use internet based messaging like iMessage, Skype, Google Hangouts, WHatsApp Web, etc.
Similarly, without an iPhone, an iPad is limited to VOIP telephone services - like FaceTime, Skype, Ooma, etc.

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation.
You’re welcome. Have a nice weekend.
