I update my iPhone 8 a few days ago to iOS 14, and there seems to be a problem with my Apple News widget. When I add the widget to my Home Screen, and select "Top Stories", it appears blank and says "No Stories". However, when I select "Topic", I can see (most) topics fine. How can I fix this?

Running iOS 14.1 on iPhone 12 Pro. I have the same issue, uninstalled and reinstalled the news app multiple times along with the widget. It used to work but suddenly stopped. Shows “no stories” in my Smart Stack
I have the same problem but i have IOS14.2 although the news stories can be seen when you click on any story it closes down the app , I've tried deleting it and re-installing straight from apple store but it doesn't make any difference it still doesn't work everything else seems to be working OK it's only apple news that i seem to have a problem with .

Cancelled my apple news subscription. After updating my IOs and more than one frustrating hour of tinkering with the home screen, I simply cannot get this News widget to appear on the home screen. Really disappointed!
Yep that works a treat. Pity I have to fo this on each and every device I have. Makes you wonder why they bother beta testing....
Same problem here and I agree. $2500 for a phone that’s been full of glitches since day one.

Only had to delete the app and reinstall to fix it. Removing the widget appears to be an unnecessary step.
Mine doesn’t work. I tried ur step but still, not getting news widget.
Just deleting news app automatically deleted the widget for me. When I redownloaded the app the widget began working. Thank you!
