macbook keeps asking for icloud password

Macbook Pro, since just updating to Catalina 10.15.6, is constantly interrupting me to enter my icloud password. It won't stop regardless of how many times I enter it. I logged onto icloud, changed the password, and entered the new password. It still interrupts me to ask constantly.

This is irritating & I don't know what it's not doing because the password is not taking. I have looked for fixes but only find iphone fixes or out of date ones that don't work anymore. How do I get rid of this glitch?
