WatchOS7 update problems

I re-paired as a new watch with no complications, went 18 hours without it rebooting, tried adding the heart rate monitor and it proceeded to reboot into a continuous cycle not even giving me time to enter password. I always wanted an expensive watch I just didn’t know it was going to be an Apple

We are having similar on series 4

various connection issues and data not synching

workouts not showing info on routes taken etc

strava a particular issue since 18 September

watch says 200miles strava Nil but shows I have done something

I have an Watch 3 and after WatchOS 7 update I started having the same problem(shut down and lock). My solution was to reset the watch and re-start it as if it were a new watch. I did this on 9-27-2020 and as of today I have not had a shut down or a lockup since. I hope this helps. Good Luck

I found a way to use your apple watch with out rebooting. You have to delete all your watchfaces. Only use album photos. I have the same problem some weeks ago. i did that because I read in a blog. It works for me. I really dont like album as watchface but i can use my watch without reboots.

So I can report back guys with a temporary fix, erase the watch, set up as new, no third party apps and fitness tracking turned off, no restarts no glitches . First time ever. Suxx but hey, glad I found something. Literally no third party apps

My husband and I both have series 4 watches and have been having this issue. His has been worse than mine, with his being completely unusable and Apple having to send us replacements. Our issues started when we updated our phones to iOS 14. He never had a chance to update his watch to watch OS 7, and I updated recently per Apple and no luck. He got his replacement watch and tried adding it via backup and it still had the power cycle issue...it has it even when wiped and added as a new watch. I haven’t tried adding my replacement, because I am convinced the issue is not with the watch and is with iOS on the phone...we updated to 14.0.1. And it does it less for him, but the issue hasn’t stopped. My watch has been unpaired while waiting on my replacement.

For reference, my watch was randomly soft resetting every second or so, for an hour straight a few random hours a day. My husband’s was doing it NONSTOP, he could maybe interact with his watch for 5 seconds in an hour due to the cycling.

It looks it is an issue for watch series 4. tried to unpair and pair again and it didn't work. My watch series 4.0 consumes near to 8% per hour. The new watchOS 7.0.1 made it worse. I got random restarts, Siri issues. the best is to send report to to Apple via product feedback. https://www.apple.com/feedback/watch.html Hope Apple Watch team will fix it a.s.a.p.

I talked to Apple support. They said they are aware of this issue but didn't elaborate. Their "solution" was to unpair watch, backup phone, reset phone to factory, restore phone from backup and re-pair watch.

The person claimed this is a known solution to this problem. However I'm not convinced and won't be trying it as it's high risk. I think this is just their default guide for any problems before investigating further.

Delays in syncing with iPhone after waking up. This i believe have to do with the upgrades to the new soft ware. It’s not right. Apple needs to do better with regards to past products.

same thing happened to to one of my expensive older Mac book pro.

I can’t use it anymore. My photo libraries can’t transfer to iCloud. They shut it off from my old Mac Pro. Bad apple! Bad!

same issues for me. Apple please address this ASAP. This os plagues current users as well as anyone that buys a product still sold on site and Apple stores. My series 3 before this upgrade was working excellent, as soon as I updated nothing but issues, constant restarts, and issues loading complications.

I have the same issue on my S3. Watch is totally useless after IOS14 and WOS7.

Rebooting and disconnecting several times per day.

Unpairing or set it up as a new watch didn’t help either.

FIX IT ASAP, WATCH IS USELESS!!!!!

Thought it was fixed when I tried this also but spoke too soon. Not rebooting as often but still 2-3 times a day and if I can’t have any complications such as heart rate then it’s just an expensive watch.

My Apple Watch 3 with Watch OS 7.01 along with my iPhone 7+ with IOS 14.01 crashed and shut down with lock out several times a day after updating both watch 7 and iPhone 14. What I did was reset my watch 3 with only two watch faces. After reset and restore I have not had a lock out or a shut down in almost three days. Not sure why others that reset continue to have problems. My watch is working just like it did before the updates. Hopefully it will remain this way. Hope is info helps.

Another Series 3 owner with constant rebooting issues here. I experienced this with the beta and sent multiple feedback when it was doing this then and it appears nothing was addressed for the final release. Apple fix this now so I don’t have a issueless $200 piece of aluminum on my wrist!
