Battery replacement

When I have the battery of my iphone replaced, will it automatically erase my data during servicing?

Will battery replacement at Apple Store wipe phone data? I am planning to get my iPhone battery replaced at Apple Store and I do have iCloud backup. Is the battery replacement a quick service (hours vs days)? It is a pain to wipe the phone before and restore the data again after, will Apple force a wipe when they replace the battery or will all data be intact (assuming no issues with storage). Do we need to give them our unlock code? Thanks

It most likely will. Which is why Apple asks you to back up your iPhone before you give it to them for battery replacement. You can then restore the phone from the backup and not miss a beat when you get the phone back.
