iOS 14 Autocorrect Broken

I updated my iPad to iPadOS 14 today, and autocorrect is badly broken (it changed broken to bró Ken, for example). Spellcheck is the same - it flags many normal words (such as “same”, “flags”, “many”, and “such” in this sentence (also “sentence”). Resetting the keyboard dictionary did not help, nor did removing the dictionaries (since re-added, but it doesn’t seem to change anything).

With autocorrect turned on, the normal bar at the top of the keyboard is not shown. It just makes the changes without offering a choice.

I was having some trouble with autocorrect in iPadOS 13 (all versions) - sometimes it just disappeared in some apps, while working normally in others at the very same time. When it appeared, though, it always worked as it should. No problems at all with spell checking. FWIW, it’s working fine on my phone (also updated to iOS 14).

Any advice on this would be appreciated. I don’t really want to do a full reset.

Do you have more than the English keyboard on your list in settings > general > keyboard > keyboards?
