How to delete the Widgets (first menu tab) and App Library (last menu tab)? the grouping of the the apps are confusing.
How to resize folder that contains grouped app icons for better legibility instead?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It's understandable to want to be able to remove items and resize folders. We'll explain what you can do.
Removing widgets from the first screen is the same as removing apps on the Home screen. Press and hold until they jiggle to reveal a minus sign to remove them: Use widgets on your iPhone and iPod touch
This link will show how to remove apps from the App Library using Search: Organize the Home Screen and App Library on your iPhone
As for resizing the App Library folders, this is not possible since they are automatically created and grouped.
