i have macbook with 2 usbc (oval) ports. i now need 3. one for power. one for peripherals. and now one to connect via hdmi cable to tv monitor. is there some way of doing this?

With the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter, the USB-C is only for power, so you’d connect your power adapter and display to that and connect it to your Mac.
There are also 3rd party docks that provide power and a variety of ports. Choose brands like Brydge, OWC, Elgato, Kensington or Belkin, avoid CalDigit and the <$100 versions you’ll see on Amazon.
