I uploaded a couple of albums to my iTunes library on my iMac and they also downloaded to my iphone. I can’t see a way to turn off automatic downloads in the music app on my iPhone.
the option is still available on the iPad, but not the iPhone.
i have iTunes Match.

Go to Settings > Music, then under Downloads section switch off "Automatic Downloads"

I have done this and the button still toggles back on even after I restart the phone and everything. Help?!
I sorted my problem by re- syncing my music library. Might work for you.
