My MacBook pro version10.15.5 will not install software update macOS Catalina 10.15.6. This is the first software update I haven't been able to install. Why am I having this problem, and what can I do to solve it? I appreciate anyone's input. Thanks.
Download and try applying the macOS Catalina 10.15.5 Combo Update. If that fails then boot into Safe Mode (How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support) by booting with the Shift key held down and and try applying the combo updater from there.
NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.
Suggest you try downloading the Combo Update. Once downloaded to Download Folder do not launch. Restart computer while connected to charger and Hold Shift Key. This is Safe Mode. Launch the Installer
you didn't tell us which MBP you have.
make sure your MacBookPro meets these requirements for catalina
edit, sorry i didn't see you are already running catalina and just need the combo update.
