Weird thing about Find My Iphone

Hi, I lost my Airpods and the last time I searched for it on Find My Iphone, the device was still on the screen. Today, I tried searching it again on the same application and my Airpods device is not there on the screen. How did this happen? Help please, thank you! :(

Your AirPods’ location ages, and eventually is forgotten.
