Good evening grayson243,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you have some questions about the Apple Watch Series 6 and how your girlfriend can track where she is on a run. She can use the Maps app and the Find My app for this. She can download apps created specifically for the Apple Watch to track her running progress as well. The resources below will provide additional information

Run with your Apple Watch

"View your route

  1. On your iPhone, open the Activity app.
  2. Tap the Workouts tab.
  3. Tap the workout that you want to view, then scroll down.
  4. Tap the map. The colors show your pace, with green the fastest pace and red, the slowest.

To see the route, you must have an Apple Watch Series 2 or later or have your iPhone with you during the workout. You must also turn on route tracking: On your iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, tap Apple Watch Workout, then tap While Using the App."

  1. "Open the Find People app  on your Apple Watch.
  2. Tap your friend, scroll down, then tap Directions to open the Maps app .
  3. Tap the route to get step-by-step directions from your current location to your friend’s location."

Get apps from the App Store on Apple Watch - Apple Watch User Guide

  1. "Open the App Store app  on your Apple Watch.
  2. Turn the Digital Crown to browse featured apps.
  3. Tap a category or tap See All below a collection to see more apps.
  4. To get a free app, tap Get. To buy an app, tap the price.
  5. If you see the Download button instead of a price, you’ve already purchased the app and you can download it again without a charge. Some apps require that you also have the iOS version of the app on your iPhone.

To find a specific app, tap the Search field at the top of the screen, then use Dictation or Scribble to enter the name of the app. You can also browse trending categories of apps by tapping a category.

Note: When using Apple Watch with cellular, cellular data charges may apply. Scribble is not available in all languages."

"Choose a target pace for an outdoor run, and your Apple Watch will tap you on the wrist to let you know if you’re ahead or behind a set pace after one mile.

  1. Open the Workout app  on your Apple Watch.
  2. Turn the Digital Crown to scroll to Outdoor Run, then tap .
  3. Tap Set Alert, then tap OK.
  4. Adjust the target time for running a mile—9 minutes, for example—then tap Done.
  5. Choose Average or Rolling, then tap <.
  6. Average is your average pace for all the miles you’ve run. Rolling is your one mile pace taken at that moment."

Take care.
