My girl can call & facetime me,but I cant call & facetime her. Plz help

Ok...we both have wifi on & we both have each other In our contacts.

When she calls & facetimes me...it works...but I cant do it to her.

Anyone know why?

did you upgrade from previous iphone? I've read somewhere else that they had issue with facetime but it turned out that facetime was set to off with the upgrade from 3gs. long story short... make sure facetime is enabled on your iphone. settings-->phone-->facetime = on

Did you have your number ported? If so this helped me... Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings>PIN>Auto Restart>DONE

Just a thought, but the first time you initiate a facetime call, make it normally. In other words (still in WiFi) call your girlfriend normally (don't choose facetime to initiate the call) and when she answers, then hit the Facetime option. She'll have to accept the facetime call and you should be connected.

When we first tried it...I would Initiate facetime...then I would hear that little noise that it makes while it's calling...and at the time..it never worked,while when SHE tried it..it worked almost Instantly.

Now while I'm @ work..it's working great...so theres no Issue as to If I'm doing it wrong or not.

I am however wondering If it didnt work because we were both using the same wi-fi connection & it was working it hard perhaps? I have no Idea.

And I usually like to thank people for there help on Internet forums FYI...but because of my job...I cant just sit behind a computer all the time( I mostly post from work).

Some people said they got their two i4 FaceTimes running on the same router. It could be the bandwidth. It doesn't detect that there are two i4 devices on the same router as far as I know.

You would be transmitting FaceTime to router to your ISP back to the router to another FaceTime device.

Your ISP or Router may be limited to how much bandwidth can be used. I have a handful of people playing online games which takes over all the bandwidth the router can handle.

But anyway, maybe its your router blocking certain things that facetime needs to initiate the call?

Go into "settings" and then "phone" and see if facetime is turned on.
