One of my playlists has been deleted, I don't know why this happened -
is there any way of restoring them?
I tried to look this up in the forums but got too many hits and the first results didn't quite match, unfortunately.

In general I have to say, apple music keeps behaving weirdly on my mac os.

If you notice the mistake right away, you can use Edit > Undo Delete Playlist. It brings it back immediately.
Otherwise you will have to go an earlier version of the library using Time Machine.
