Why did my MAC address changed after iOS 14 update?

I recently updated to iOS 14, and the MAC address for all of my iPhones have changed. I noticed this after they all joined back they showed up as new devices with a different MAC. I looked them up to compare the old address, and they were different. I always thought MAC addresses were read only, so how could this happen?

Apple is randomizing the MAC address as a privacy feature to prevent tracking of your device.
