Warranty without receipt

Hi, do I need a proof of purchase if need to send device for repair under warranty? Planning to buy of someone who doesn’t have it.

The device's serial number will be enough to determine its warranty status if you're planning on having the repair done at an Apple Store or an Approved Apple Repair Specialist. If you're having the repair done elsewhere - ie: not by Apple or one of its approved partners then it won't matter for that repair. But, if the repair goes wrong, and you then take it back to Apple or its partners then you've invalidated the warranty.
