There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur, or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: There is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to... The Outer Limits

We now return control of your television set to you, until next week at this same time, when the Control Voice will take you to... The Outer Limits.

Hi shanmarie1103,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are trying to copy text but instead it is copying as a graphic image, is that correct? Is this happening in PDF's with preview? If so, please check out the links to the Preview User Guide we've provided below for this specific issue. If not, please provide additional details and we'll be happy to see if we can help out further!

Thank you for the reply. I'm actually attempting to copy an image from a PDF in Preview. I'll provide more detail

Using the rectangular selection tool in Preview I select the image that I want to copy

Once the image is selected:

1) "crop" automatically shows up in the markup toolbar (Crop is not usually present in the markup toolbar)

2) I attempt to copy by command+c or selecting copy in the dropdown with the cursor

The result is that the image I selected is cropped instead of copied. This does not occur 100% of the time. And it does not matter if I use a command function to copy or manually select copy from the dropdown. It's almost as if "copy" functions as "crop" in Preview. This does not happen in other programs.

Hopefully that clears any confusion from my original post.

If I double click to highlight the image, then do CMD+C, crop does not show up under those circumstances. Thanks for the work around.

However, that doesn't resolve the issue of needing to copy tables and the like.

I'll have to update on what happens when I open keyboard viewer. So far today I have not had any issues. Only a matter of time before it happens again.
