Lost air printing function

Air print is lost for I phone with update 14 and also I pad. Went thru router resent. Reconnected printers. Nada. Suggestions ? I have HP printers that work fine otherwise. I can sprint to both of them via mail. But printers don’t show up in Ios air print. Sept. 2020

Your router may be unexpectedly blocking network-broadcast traffic. A restart of the router may resolve the issue.

To restart you home router, disconnect power - then wait at least 30 seconds before restarting. When you router has rebooted (which may take several minutes), force-restart your iPad:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Yes - due to DHCP, the sequence of restart is critical...

Always start with the device that provides DHCP Services to your network - this is usually the ISP-provided Router - then any connected WiFi Access Points (APs - first wired, then wireless) - then other wired devices - and finally any other wireless devices and printers.

This equates to your Gateway Router, then Network Infrastructure, finishing with Client Devices.

I’m delighted to learn that the problem is now resolved
