I have a series 2 Apple Watch.
Why is my watch not getting the newer update of WatchOS 7?
Will my watch ever be able to be updated?

Apple Watch Series 2 cannot update to the new watchOS 7, it will only update to watchOS 6.
It’s only compatible with Series 3, Series 4, Series 5, Series 6, and Apple Watch SE.

Because the Watch Series 2 lacked the required hardware.
watchOS 7 is only compatible to Series 3, 4, 5, 6 and SE.
