iPod vs iPad

I am thinking of purchasing either one of these. Is the iPod touch like the iPad? Someone told me it was but would like some opinions if possible.

Yes the iPod Touch is similar to the iPad. Some will even argue that an iPad is only a larger iPod Touch. In my opinion the two present completely different experiences even though the content presented may be the same. Compare this to watching a 14 inch TV set vs a 50 inch TV set. The entertainment experienced in the above examples is different. I think that is the major difference between the iPod Touch and an iPad.
If music is your primary interest then the iPod Touch should suffice. If reading iBooks is your primary concern along with surfing the WWW and watching movies on a bigger screen than that of a iPod Touch then the iPad is for you.
