Go to settings>Wallet & Apple Pay>transaction defaults>change the number there

What about when you go to settings>Apple ID (your name at the top)>Name, Phone Numbers, Email>what is listed there?
What about calling the bank and asking what number is assigned to the card in question?
That setting already shows the number I want to use, but that's not the number that is showing up when I use Apple Pay.
So there must be somewhere else that links a number to the use of Apple Pay.
That also has the number I want to use, plus my wife's number as an option. No sign of the number I'm trying to remove from my Apple Pay transactions.
