Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner. Pick the closest topic you can find.

This is not helpful. My son has Chrome downloaded and has UNLIMITED access to it! If I try to block a website through downtime, it only applies to Safari. I can’t add time limits to the app. It used to be in the options under downtime to limit time on it, like all the other apps. Now it is GONE, just like what the previous person said. It isn’t a matter of user error and not understanding how downtime works. After looking through every category, I used the search bar to try to find it. Not thing comes up. Yes, obviously my son has chrome downloaded. He’s using it and I want to set limits. it’s even more irritating that websites can’t be blocked or limited in chrome. So does that mean that inappropriate or explicit material blocks don’t apply either??

I’ve done that but it doesn’t help when I want to limit the time on it to specific parts of the day. I’ve had to give it a 1 minute limit to keep my son from using it during school, now that I can’t unlock it after school hours. I’m so incredibly irritated at Apple for making this change. Goes to show the people making decisions have no idea about how families use downtime.

Hello Virtualmom2,

It sounds like you need to set chrome as an Allowed App during Downtime and you no longer see the option to do so. We understand the importance of making sure your device can utilize available configurations and we are happy to help provide you with some resources that should get you headed in the right direction.

A great place to start with this issue would be to follow the guidance below:

  1. First, we recommend you make sure you have the Chrome application downloaded to your device by referring to the guidance in: Use Search on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  2. Then follow the guidance in: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Specifically the section titled "Allow built-in apps and features."

For more information on downtime and restrictions, please refer to: Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
