Font doesn't work in Word, but works in Excel

I've downloaded the Google font 'Pompiere'. It shows up in the font menu of Word, but displays as Times New Roman. However, it works & displays perfectly in Excel and Powerpoint.


I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, downloading from a different source, clearing cache etc. but nothing has solved it. This problem has been happening ever since I downloaded the font a few years ago.

Using Word for Mac, version 16.16.25, all my software is up to date.


If someone knows how to solve this I would be so appreciative!


PS - this is probably in the wrong 'topic' location, but I couldn't find one that seemed appropriate.
