Forgot iTunes password and don’t have access to email account anymore

My wife’s phone can’t access the iTunes account anymore as we lost her password and the email on file we haven’t used in years

need to know how to reset it

I have the same issue. I can't restore my phone without the iTunes password. I have tried my Apple ID password and the phone password and each time I get the message, this is not the password for this iTunes account. I didn't even know I had separate accounts for iTunes and Apple. Didn't read anything in the link about an iTunes password. Anybody got any other advice?

Your iTunes and Apple ID are usually the same, but they don’t have to be. Is the problem just logging in or is it being blocked by Activation Lock? If it’s Activation Lock did you set up alternate trusted phone numbers as suggested?
