Geotag on photos not working since iOS 14 upgrade.

Me too, same issue.

I’m in the UK as well and noticed this when I downloaded iOS 14 and it stayed the same with iOS 14.0.1. My phone will tag home but nowhere else. A couple of times it’s tagged my workplace but the tag disappeared pretty quickly after.

I talked to Apple last week, they put me through to an engineer who said they have had reports of the issue and advised to pay attention to upcoming updates.

I was excited when 14.1 came but alas, still waiting for the photo tag issue to be resolved. 😔

On Friday I wrote to Apple Support on Twitter and I just got this "Unfortunately our software engineers haven’t advised us as to why this feature is currently unavailable in iOS 14, just that they are aware of it missing and working to resolve it in a future software update at some point." And obviosly it will be resolved with 14.2

I'm sending a tweet to @Apple every day (which will be lost in the thousands they probably receive) but it makes me feel better :) and it's easy whilst I'm sat @ home in the evenings.

The same thing happened to me. I am FURIOUS. I traveled to many cities in many countries and I loved easily seeing the locations of my travels. This needs to be fixed! It is totally unacceptable.

The location is no longer showing for any of my photos in the past or the present. Whose terrible idea or major screwup was this. It needs to be fixed. When I called Apple and finally got a human to complain, she said Apple was aware of the problem and working on it. That was 3 weeks ago. Apple - FIX THIS.

Exactly how I feel! It’s easily the most important feature to me and all my travels are now a jumble of dates! They need to sort this out ASAP!

I sent a DM via twitter to @AppleSupport with my case number (ref number assigned to me after speaking with Apple in Ireland).

Their reply confirmed that they had received numerous unhappy enquiries on this issue & that it was 'under review'...mmmm.

The only thing we can do is to bombard apple with DM's via twitter, fill in feedback forms weekly, put tweets in the public domain...I don't know if apple monitor this website but if they do & see the level of annoyance, then maybe they'll take note & action.

I think we need to make a big fuss on social media about this issue. It has been almost a month since the initial complaints and nothing has been done so far. Contradictory information has been given by Apple to different people at several countries.

I agree. But Someone here said that there is hope with iOS 14.2. I guess we should hold fire until it's released. If iOS 14.2 comes without the feature, then the fuss and noise can begin. *My thoughts*

Yes. For me its very important feauture and i gave chance to 14.2 beta 4 on friday. Since then every single photo i take has a location on top. Sometimes not right after i took it, but after few hours but it still pop up at top :) Hope with stable release will be even better.

If iOS 14.2 cures this issue....happy days.

However, if it doesn't then we should inundate apple via all social media platforms with a virtual protest :) until it's sorted.

I still can't comprehend why apple removed such a useful feature......
