Geotag on photos not working since iOS 14 upgrade.

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 14, my iPhone does not show the geotag location at the top of each picture. Only the date and time it was taken. My camera settings are correct and my location settings are accurate, but it won’t show the location on the photos. The photos I have that were taken before installing iOS 14 show the location and geotag still. But any picture taken since the upgrade does not show the location.

The geotagging is being inaccurate since iOS 14.2. Whenever you have taken multiple pics in various locations, the iOS will choose the one location you took pics the most and mark basically all the pics u took in the single day with that location. But when you scroll up it gives u the correct address.

Btw I changed my region yesterday and then all the geotagging disappeared and I’ve no way to bring it back

I disagree. I believe the issue can be solved again if we get enough people talking about this, the main issue is that many people don’t know about it. It’s kinda unacceptable because new updates are supposed to resolve issues, not bring new ones? I don’t know what they did but the photos app was working perfectly fine before I.O.S 14. It can’t be that hard for them to fix whatever is going on.

Well I tried before but it didn’t get any upvote. And cause I’m a bilingual so I have to type both Chinese and English. Then I use the “stroke” typing method to type Chinese characters but then it always deletes some strokes for me before I’ve picked the right word even I’ve typed them.

I mean I type Chinese only when talking to my parents and relatives so it doesn’t bother me too much. Just when it happens it does frustrate me a lil bit.

Same problem for me. It appears suddenly when I was on holidays.

one day, it works fine, and the day after, I got the problem.

So for me it is not due to an update but it is a problem on the photo store in iCloud.

on my Mac, I change the location and after I restore the default location and the good location appears but the day after it disappeared again.

Very sad with this issue, and no solution.

I am now on iOS 14.4.2 using a iPhone 12 Pro Max and my geotags are really periodic. Interesting note, every photo captures a location, but for some unknown reason the iPhone will not convert it to a geotag. It is missing the location details that is just below the location map. The only way I have found to force the iPhone to convert the missing location data is to plug it into power in the locked position and literally wait about 90-120 minutes and eventually the missing data appears along with a geotag.

Needless to say this is ultra annoying. Steps I have done to try to remedy this is to reset location and privacy settings, reset network settings and at last resort, reset all settings of which none do anything to force the iPhone to produce the missing location data and is supposed to appear under the location map.

Apple really needs to address this! This whole mess started immediately upon the iOS 14 upgrade when I had a iPhone 11 Pro Max and still is happening with a new iPhone 12 Pro Max. What are you going to do about this, Apple??

The issue remains in iOS 14.4.2 so y’all dun have to update it cause it will only bring u battery drain with no other improvement.

Y’all Apple won’t fix any problem other than adding battery drain issues. To avoid further trashing your iPhone I think stop updating is the best way out. I mean I dun really use almost all its so-called new functions. Sacrificing the speed, battery and stuff juz for functions that i will never use is definitely not worth it.

idk y my stupid finger chose to download the iOS 14.4.2 (was at iOS 14.2) and now the battery drains real fast every day. Seeking help at the Apple store or the Genius Bar is useless cause they’ll say try to factory restore everything but in fact it won’t help.
