Ever since I upgraded to iOS 14, my iPhone does not show the geotag location at the top of each picture. Only the date and time it was taken. My camera settings are correct and my location settings are accurate, but it won’t show the location on the photos. The photos I have that were taken before installing iOS 14 show the location and geotag still. But any picture taken since the upgrade does not show the location.
I talked with Apple Support and this issue is now fixed on my IPhone 11 Pro, OS 14.01
You have to go into Privacy again, and then toggle the Location off and then back on. Then the camera icon will now appear under Privacy, so then click on Camera, then select allow location while using device. That fixed it. Before the Camera icon wasn't appearing under Privacy. So, toggling location off and then on again somehow reset it.
When you update to IOS 14.3, your Photolibrary will be curated. Therefore you need WIFI, your device must be connected to power and locked. When curation is ready (need sometimes many hours) your locations are added.
Hi Jason I just went to an Apple Store today and I found that their display iPhone 12 Pro has the same problem. None of the pic has a geotagging on it. The staff standing right next to me told me that’s a bug and they know it. Not sure when will it be fixed tho.
By the way: photos taken on iPhone (iOS 14.0.1) show their location at the top in photostream on my iPad which is still on 13.6.1. So the location is definitely registered.
Settings -> General -> About -> Software version. Please tell me what version you are running on your iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Issue finally FIXED with iOs 14.2! Yeahhhhh!!!!
Apple called me now. So, they know the issue. I send the photos and the files they wanted by using their link. They will call me again as soon as possible; I confirm there is no fix at the moment. They will provide through their technicians to look for a definitive solution. The problem affects many devices.
UPDATE:
Apple called me back again. They made me install a diagnostic profile for photos on my iPhone. I sent them the file by following the link they had left me via email. The technicians are working on the problem, if you call Apple support, they make you install the profile.
Literally experienced this issue a few days ago. I spoke to Apple in Ireland yesterday and the chap confirmed that this issue has been reported by hundreds of phone users. Seemingly it's not a bug, but a software 'innovation'....personally it's a backward step as having the location named in the title bar is really useful and needs to return asap.
I was told by Apple when I spoke with them that they are aware of this and they are “actively working on a fix”. I’m in the US. So I don’t know if they are really or they are just saying that as people in other countries are getting different answers. It’s odd that a trillion dollar company can’t seem to get this fixed though.
@HelenSK: join the club by bombarding Apple with complaints about this on Twitter and Apple support, completing feedback forms etc... Hoping they will pick up on this -or at least give a formal answer on whether this is a bug or a feature they have deliberately removed. We want it back!!
For me, 14.2 fixed majority of geotag problems - but still had many old photos (taken before ios 14) showing wrong locations or just showing country. Then I upgraded to 14.3 and new photos taken after that showed only time and date again, so I had to downgrade to 14.2 and am waiting for future update that would fix this nasty bug
I just updated to 14.2 public beta. I had some pictures without location, but only with day and time and now they got location on top :)))) tomorrow i ll make some more photos and I will report.
I’m in Germany. The locations started appearing after letting my devices charge with the screen on.
I’m not sure this is a feature, despite what was being said at the store. Any of the photos I took before updating still display the location title in the top instead of the date and time. Presumably if this was an intentional change in the presentation in the app, it would be consistent not just start with photos taken after updating to iOS 14
