My iPhone Background light
Why is the background light on for my iPhone, Change from light to dark back to light at will. It happens whenever I am on the web or in an application on a call.

It sounds like your iPhone is adjusting brightness, and we can help.
If you would prefer not to use auto-brightness, you can turn this off in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Auto-Brightness.

As for when this occurs on calls, you should expect your iPhone screen to turn off when you put the receiver close to something, as this is how your iPhone turns off the display when you place the receiver to your ear.
