Show Apple Pencil battery percentage as a number in iPad OS14

Apparently with the introduction of the new GUI for iPad OS14, Apple changed the way the pencil battery percentage is displayed... it’s now in a widget, displayed as ring gauge of some sort... to me it’s kinda meaningless as I prefer a number, not something I have to interpret.

Besides going into Settings > Apple Pencil every time I want to check my battery percentage, is there a way to make the widget display the battery percentage as a numeric value instead of the stupid green ring... it’s very arbitrary and rather annoying to have to guess what the ring equates to...

Who asked for this?

Anyway... Thank you in advance for any help

The iPadOS14 Batteries Widget can be added to the visible Widgets in one of three styles - two of which show the Pencil Battery Charge as a percentage.

Whilst the Batteries Widget cannot be directly edited (as is possible for some of the new Widgets), you can simply delete the Widget and add another of a style that you prefer - or have multiple Battery Widgets!
