My phone says I need to update my software to my phone so I can update my watch but my software is already up to date

How do I get this to go away

Please follow through the steps below:


  1. Update iOS on iPhone
  2. Forget the Wi-Fi network your iPhone is connected to, and reconnect: How to forget a Wi-Fi network on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac
  3. Ensure Date & Time is configured to Set Automatically: Set the date and time on iPhone
  4. Delete the watchOS update from Settings > General > iPhone Storage
  5. Reset your Apple Watch by following the directions here: If you forgot your Apple Watch passcode
  6. Delete and reinstall the Apple Watch app on your iPhone: How to delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
  7. Reset Network Settings: If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad


If the issue persists after following the steps above, contact Apple Support: Get Support
