I recently updated my iPhone 7 to IOS 14. Now the microphone doesn't work so I can't make phone calls (they can't hear me and I can't hear them, send audio messages or talk to Siri. Anyone else encounter this issue. Is there a way to fix this. Please help!!!!

For iPhone 7's that have a loose Audio IC not even iOS 25.x is going to fix it. If your speaker is grayed out and all you can do is use BT, as you have described, it is a hardware problem. It is not caused by any update, although doing one can reveal it and your really have 3 options: (a) Pay Apple for an out-of-warranty replacement and get a service replacement unit. I would not go that route at this point when you can buy a new iPhone SE 2020 for less than $100 more, (b) buy some other phone or (c) find a 3rd party repair shop that can do microlevel soldering and have them re-ball the four connection points that are usually at issue, and do ask and make sure they did all four. Prices have been dropping for this option. Keep in mind if you go this route Apple may refuse future service on your iPhone, but that really should not be an issue.
Have asked independent commercial repair service. They say its often happens for 7-s and update to 14 is coincidence. In our city ( Kyiv) it costs 50$. Will buy a new one and repair the old after.
The iOS doesn’t affect the Bluetooth function.
If it works after a reset or by deleting some apps even if it’s only a short time surely it software/firmware not hardware

Unfortunately only it only works for a while.
The permanent solution is through a micro soldering.
I too had to get my 7 Plus replaced because of this update.

It does not work with camera, messenger and even with siri. However, when I tried using zoom, microphone works fine.
They are calling it a looping disease.
If this is software issue try to restart or update to iOS 14.1 or if you are using iOS 14.1 you have to wait until 13th of November for iOS 14.2. Apple must remove this issue.

With the 14.2 ios update, I can already hear the caller but they cannot hear me.

i just got it sorted today (literally 15mins ago) after about 1 week -2 weeks rendered useless without voice
After 3 hard resets it started to work!!!
but it was short situation, after a successful call became silent again.
so it must really be a software issue !!!
