AirPods Pro loud deafening noise in left ear

I was using my AirPods as usual today watching a video and all the sudden out of nowhere there was the loudest crack of static in my left ear and it literally hurt so bad for an hour after. I went back and checked and it wasn’t in the video- it was just my AirPods making a horrible glitch. Before you tell me to update my phone software or my iPad software… I am on iOS 14. my AirPods are additionally up-to-date. I am now terrified to use my left AirPod because how freaking loud the sound was and how much it hurt. Has anyone else ever had this problem? If so what is it and how can I fix it? I’ve never ever had this happen before with any pair of headphones and this was legit terrifying. I cleaned the noise canceling microphones on it because I was concerned that could’ve played into it but I’m like literally too afraid to put it in my ear. I know that’s stupid LOL but it was super duper friggin loud. Even an ambulance doesn’t faze me

Ok so this just happened to me as well. I just finished up a run and was stretching and all of a sudden my right AirPod made this insanely loud popping like glitch static noise and it really freaked me out too. I ripped it out of my ear so quick and audibly swore and was so confused because I haven't ever had something like that happen. And it was mid song that it happened, it wasn't like I had just put them in and had them up too high or something.
